As days pass, I kind of realized how much being away from home can take a toll on someone. Oki is my home but it doesn't feel like it. I'm away from my real family and there's a chance that I probably won't see them until after I graduate. It really sucks but then again I guess my mom and dad's friends help fill that little void because they always think of us as family and I do the same. But aside from all that, there's a story that I started way back in the summer that I never bothered completing until now. I scraped almost everything from the old story and switched a lot of things around. It is a romance story but not a super lovey dovey one. : ). Usually when I start stories, I never finish them. So, this time I'm attempting to keep it short and not lag. The ones that have read the rough draft of it loves it so far so I guess it's a pretty great story. ;) I'll post what it's about later though!

Good For the Ears

When I went online to check my account on youtube, I got one those share video message things and it was from a band called The OverUnder. Usually, I don't care for any of these but this time I went ahead and clicked it. I was really suprised. I thought I wasn't going to like them but they are really great. The lyrics are very meaningful and the vocals are really good too. Also, what I like personally besides the vocals is how it sounds instrumentally. It's really soothing to me and puts me in to thought everytime I listen to any of their songs. My favorite songs from them are:

Through the Walls - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4ewFTGB9bI

Somewhere Along The Way - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKx3mgX3eCk

Crowd Surf - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKx3mgX3eCk

Far From Perfect - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UI1SDlt6t8g

Another Year Another Valentine - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW9DNvjNEYY

Static - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZkJ5mf9dvM

They are really good so go on listen to them!

O_O Wow I didn't know about that.

Well, I'm doing this research report for my language arts class and my topic is music lyrics. I'm basicially taking a side on whether the lyrics have any bad effects on those who listen, especially the youth and teens. From all of the research I've found(which was a lot.), said that it links to things like violence, premature sex, drugs, and other changes in behavior. It might be true for some lyrics but not all. Although, I will agree that as a teen myself, many teens and youth do use music as another way to describe their personality or "shape it". I know I have. Music is seen as an essential to a young person's everyday life. The average teen listens to 40 hours a of music per week. =/ A couple of the leading genres are hip-hop and rock. These genres are the main ones blamed for corruption of young minds because of how explicit some are. I won't say that's not  true based on witnessing it. But what pulls people in is the catchy beats and rhythms in the songs and the music industry takes advanatge of it, aiming their music at the younger minds. It's fascinating, really. It makes me question why I even I like some of the music I do.

Hi ppl! :D

I'm actually pretty loud for a girl who stays quiet in class. Well, I started a blog as you can see.  I'm probably not going to write about much and maybe a couple poems but maybe not. By the way, check out my friend Teale's blog. She's an awesome poet and her views to me seem really down to earth. I think it's because I can see where she's coming from. She's a very real person.  http://itstealelove.blogspot.com/
